Healthcare Reform in the U.S. is all about change. The question is who will pay for it? The answer is you. In my opinion, healthcare reform will cost us more in taxes for a government run- health care plan option.
Can we truly afford to pay more taxes? We are now 50% in debt. Is this the only answer? Is this the way to control health costs? President Obama states that if you like what you have, you can keep it! A new government taxed run health care plan will be trying to pass this summer or fall. It is to be similar to Medicare. Ask any senior if they are happy with Medicare, most of them will tell you NO. In fact, most seniors will tell you they need to purchase an additional insurance, which costs them several hundred dollars per month. In my professional opinion, health care should be a choice between the doctor and the patient. Also, if our country would focus on prevention vs. sick care; they would save thousands of dollars per year. Or, if we all would be required to purchase insurance just like car insurance, the insurance costs would go down for all, and allow insurance companies to become more competitive.
