Wellness Programs As a doctor health consultant, I would like to take moment and share what I hear in my practice and what I deal with day in and day out, when working with the public. I would like to share facts about what is happening in most of my client's households and life's. Majority of my clients have shared stories with me that reveal financial hardship, emotional upsets and chronic health problems. Most days, I find Main Street is like a war zone. Often I ask my clients are you better off today than you were 5 years ago, or even 1 year ago? Their feedback is NO!

In fact, no one has felt a change. Sharing some facts on my blog is a way I can share and hope to reach out to help others. Many of my health clients, other doctors and businesses have shared similar stories. It appears that the working middle class people continue to struggle when finding jobs, struggle with monthly bills, have difficulty saving money, and had one family member loose their income. In fact most people today are working twice as hard for twice as less, and now have twice as much stress. How can this be prevention? Some people have enrolled going back to school or finding a trade and changing their life. Others have lost their homes or lost most of their home equity. Some had to file bankruptcy or suffer a foreclosure. Some no longer have insurance or they don't want it. These people are not irresponsible nor idiots, they had good businesses at one time, and they are hard working. Is this due to big banks, Wall Street, and government? This fallout has failed hard working middle class people and continues to do so. We have seen little to no assistance from government and the big banks. Several of my clients come from the baby boomer generation 45-60's, reporting that this is their most difficult time for job searching and security. The boomer generation has had to resort to living off of their retirement funds. Some even lost their retirement in the stock market crash. The equity in most homes today are depleted or under water. In fact, approximately 16 million of the U.S. face this dilemma. This leaves it tougher and tougher to survive today on Main Street. I would like to think of myself as an optimistic person, however I too can relate to my own health clients because I too share the same struggles. In fact, too many people are not getting loan modification assistance or refinancing that they need to stay in their homes. Banks are not lending to business or home owners. The truth is most people lack the confidence in our government at this time.

My Wellness Tip: Simplify your life, Live on one income, Pay for things by cash, focus more on preventive care, hang around positive people, appreciate your family, ask God for help, and teach your children the younger generation to do the same and never give up hope.
